Our legacy is built on generations of knowledge, experience, and dedication from the founding families: Chandler, Bauer, and Cantrell. Today, our customers continue to benefit from that enduring foundation as we deliver advanced processing solutions to the global oilseed industry.

Our story begins in 1875, when brothers Joe and Clarence Chandler founded the Chandler Company in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Originally manufacturing boiler plates during the post–Civil War industrial boom, the Chandlers soon turned to innovation. In 1910, Clarence invented a groundbreaking cottonseed huller, revolutionizing oilseed processing. This huller was so effective that another company, Bauer Brothers, commissioned Chandler to manufacture it under the Bauer name. The design became a global standard, and refined versions are still in use today.

Founded in 1878 in Springfield, Ohio, the Bauer Brothers Company produced beaters, shakers, grinders, and separators—essentially every machine needed for cottonseed processing, except the huller. Together, Chandler and Bauer became known for supplying complete processing lines across the cottonseed industry.

Bauer believed that if you build one machine for a customer, you should build the entire line. Today, Cantrell Worldwide carries forward that same philosophy—designing and delivering fully integrated systems for cottonseed, soybean, sunflower, peanut, and other oilseed applications. We proudly serve not only the vegetable oil industry but also emerging sectors like biodiesel and biofuels.

In 1997, Cantrell International was acquired by A.C. Horn & Co. of Dallas, Texas, adding conveying systems and custom sheet metal fabrication to our capabilities. Over the following decade, our focus was on modernizing and improving an already exceptional line of machinery.

Then in 2007, Cantrell Worldwide Inc. was formed through the acquisition of the complete machinery, engineering, service, and parts divisions. Based in Dallas, Texas, our expanded company continues to lead the industry with advanced technology, cost-effective systems, and unmatched experience.

As we look to the future, we do so with a strong connection to our past. The ‘new’ Cantrell Worldwide honors the vision of our founders by continuing to meet the challenges of a dynamic global economy.
